Malaysia My Second Home programme welcomes foreign nationals to stay in Malaysia on a 10-year renewable Social Visit Pass with a multiple-entry visa. Successful applicants are free to enter and leave Malaysia without any restrictions.

Age
No age limit
Income/Finance
All applicants are required to have a fixed deposit account in any banks in Malaysia. The fixed deposit account must be active for the duration of the applicant’s permitted length of stay. Proof of income from abroad can be at least 3 months income statement.

Applicant above 50 years of age
- Applicant and spouse – fixed deposit of RM150,000 for 5 years from any bank in Malaysia OR fixed monthly income of not less than RM7,000 from abroad
- Single applicant – fixed deposit of RM100,000 for 5 years from any bank in Malaysia OR fixed monthly income of not less than RM7,000 from abroad.
Applicant below 50 years of age
- Applicant and spouse – fixed deposit of RM150,000 for 5 years from any bank in Malaysia AND fixed monthly income of not less than RM7,000 from abroad
- Single applicant – fixed deposit of RM100,000 for 5 years from any bank in Malaysia AND fixed monthly income of not less than RM7,000 from abroad.
From 1st March 2006, the above financial requirements will be replaced by a new condition. The new financial requirement will just be fixed deposit of US$75,000 or equivalent amount in Ringgit Malaysia. The fixed deposit account may be in US$ or Ringgit Malaysia.

Insurance Coverage / Medical Report
- Applicants must have a medical insurance that includes coverage in Malaysia or extend their existing policies to include medical coverage in Malaysia. Applicants above 50 years of age need not provide proof of medical insurance if unavailable
- Applicants must provide their latest medical report for submission process and once approval is obtained applicants have to obtain a local medical report in Malaysia
Government Tax
Successful applicants are bound by the policies, systems and regulation of tax of Malaysia. Tax exemption is given to pension remitted into Malaysia

Social Visit Pass
The approval is for a term of 10 years and can be extended every 10 years. Applicants will be issued with Multiple Entry Visas
Application Requirements
- Letter of application
- 2 copies of application form for Social Visit Pass, IM.12 for each applicant and dependent
- 2 passport sized photos of each applicant and dependent
- Photocopies of passport/travel document for each applicant and dependent
- A certified copy of Marriage Certificate (if accompanied by spouse)
- A certified copy of latest bank statement or related financial document
- Copy of birth certificates (if accompanied by children)
- A certified copy of medical insurance and fixed deposit (these documents can be submitted after receiving conditional approval)

Submission of Application
Applications can be made in or outside Malaysia.
Applications can be submitted to either:
- Ministry of Tourism Malaysia
- All Malaysian Representative Office abroad
- All Tourism Malaysia Offices

Fees
- The fee for the Social Visit Pass under Malaysia My Second Home programme is RM90 per year. This fee can be paid in full for a 10 year period for RM900
- Visa fees are at existing rate applicable to each country (not exceeding RM100)
Extension of Social Visit Pass
Documents required when applying for extension are as follows:
- Letter of intent to continue the programme
- Passport and photocopy of passport
- 1 copy of Form IM.55
- Latest certified fixed deposit
- Payment of RM90 per year for visa
Approval Period
